COMMENTS:
Through her work with the residents of the Florida Keys, both incorporated and unincorporated in solving problems and dealing with issues, Commissioner Spehar has gained the reputation of a defender of personal and property rights. Because of her sponsorship and guidance, Monroe County was one of the first counties to have a human rights ordinance to prohibit discrimination of any kind in the areas of housing, financial transactions, religious practices and employment.

From day to day, Commissioner Spehar continues her campaign promise to listen to her constituents, provide courteous representation for all County residents and build consensus-not contention.
